Nodus

Algorithm-driven approach for brand identity showing the possibilities of procedural generation and generative branding. Nodus is an AI research and deployment company. The algorithm-based generative system creates abstract 3D forms that define the brand’s cutting-edge technology.

Algorithm-driven approach for brand identity showing the possibilities of procedural generation and generative branding. Nodus is an AI research and deployment company. The algorithm-based generative system creates abstract 3D forms that define the brand’s cutting-edge technology.

The bespoke Nodus wordmark is based on the concept of the neural network, an essential process that AI algorithms employ to solve problems. A basic neural network consists of two elements nodes and connections. The name Nodus is borrowed from the Latin word nōdus meaning a knot or a node. The em-dash after the wordmark symbolises the connection made between the nodes within an AI neural network.

The Nodus knot mark is inspired by the concept of the wordmark. It is constructed from the dash in the wordmark and it also visually represents a node within a neural network.

The procedurally generated visual is created using the 3D software Blender. Utilizing its built-in system for procedural textures in combination with a Python script. The generation systems allow for an infinite amount of generated visuals and it explores the idea of autonomous designed visuals.
